We Have a New Name: Fall Creek Academy!
Board Unanimously Chooses to Change School Name

March 6, 2008 is a birthday, of sorts, for all of us.

The 21st Century Charter School @ Fall Creek School Board unknowingly met for the last time on that date. After concluding its normal discussions of old business and new business, the Board discussed a proposed change to the moniker our school has proudly borne since its move to our present location.

Pros and cons of the existing name and of a few possible new names were discussed at some length (“Is it necessary to include the word ‘charter’?” “What special meaning does ‘academy’ have?” “Is ‘Fall Creek’ preferred over an individual’s name?”). Ultimately, a motion was made to change the school name from “21st Century Charter School @ Fall Creek” to the recommended name “Fall Creek Academy.” The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Slowly but surely, websites will be revised, stationery will be changed out, spirit wear will be created, and outdoor signs replaced. Until then, Engineers, when your Great Aunt Portia comes to visit and asks you to remind her what school you attend, you can impress her with Fall Creek Academy. Go FCA Engineers!
