Donors Choose:
Showing students the treasure of reading

Ms. Vaughn wanted to provide every one of her 31 sixth graders with a copy of Treasure Island. But with financial resources low in the classroom, she turned to Donors Choose to obtain the books.

"I teach an amazing group of sixth graders who love to read and love to put themselves into every book that they read," said Ms. Vaughn. "During the sixth grade year a big part of our focus is showing the students the different types of books available to them. Treasure Island will help them to see yet another type of book."

Within two weeks, the class received enough money to provide every student with a copy of Treasure Island helping this class and many classes to come.
