Donors Choose:
New Title I Math Classes Get Scientifc Calculators

Title I math teacher and first-year Teach for America Corps member Thomas Hakim put in a request through Donors Choose for 25 scientific calculators for the developing Title I math classes.

Four days after publishing his request, the project was fully funded and now have the tools necessary to prepare them for the transition to graphing calculators later in high school.
The importance is doubled as many of the students are in need of intensive math instruction and are at least two years behind in math. The addition of the scientific calculators will assist in the challenge of getting them back up to grade level.
